Curve Dental, the cloud-based practice management provider based in Alpharetta, Georgia, has rolled out Curve Care+, a clinical AI suite built natively into its existing software rather than bolted on as a third-party add-on. The launch, announced July 14, gives dental teams voice-driven tools for documentation, charting, and periodontal exams — all inside the same login they already use to run their practice.
Three Tools, One Platform
Curve Care+ is made up of three components:
Notes+ listens to provider-patient conversations and drafts clinical notes automatically, cutting down on the after-hours charting that eats into providers' personal time.
Charting+ lets providers update the odontogram using voice commands during treatment, instead of stepping away from the chair to type.
Perio+ gives hygienists a way to complete periodontal charting independently, calling out pocket depths and conditions by voice as they go.
Providers can also dictate voice notes through the Curve Mobile app outside the operatory, giving the suite some flexibility beyond the chairside setting.
The pitch behind all three tools is the same: get documentation done while care is happening, not squeezed into lunch breaks or tacked onto the end of the day.
Addressing the Staffing Squeeze
Curve is positioning Curve Care+ as a response to one of dentistry's most persistent pain points — staffing. With many practices struggling to hire and retain clinical support staff, the company is framing the suite as a way to add capacity without adding headcount, letting existing teams handle documentation more efficiently rather than requiring more hands to do it.
Curve reports that early adopters are saving more than four hours of documentation time per day, with perio exams completed roughly 50% faster using the new tools. Those are the company's own early figures rather than independently verified data, but they give a sense of the efficiency Curve is aiming for.
Suzanne Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at Curve Dental, framed the release around the pressure dental teams are under to do more with less time — a pressure the company says drove the decision to build AI natively into the platform rather than as a separate product.
Why "Native" Matters
Curve is drawing a clear line between Curve Care+ and the growing field of standalone dental AI tools that require separate logins or run alongside — but not inside — a practice's existing software. By embedding Notes+, Charting+, and Perio+ directly into its own platform, Curve is betting that practices will prefer one connected system over stitching together multiple point solutions.
